Parenting 011

We're in the remedial class, just trying to catch up.

To what?

In this age of accomplishing everything under the sun before starting a family, it's pretty normal for a couple of 30-something year olds to be starting a family.  However, compared to our parents, we're pretty remedial.

Mr. A is his mother's ONLY child.  She was 24 years old when he was born.  I (Mrs. O) was born when my mother was 31.  The big difference is I was their baby #2 and baby #3 came along shortly thereafter.

Both of us pursued our educational goals first.  Our parents earned most of their degrees after they started a family.

What did you do?  Compared to your parents, are you remedial (older than your parents), on grade level (same age) or ahead of the curve (younger than your parents)?

Getting ready

Parenting in Stereo is trying to have a baby!

We are starting our second month of trying.  Last month we were so sure that we were that magical couple that jumped into bed and jumped out pregnant.  Our conversations went like this:

Mrs. O - My back hurts.
Mr. A - You're preggers!

Mrs. O - I'm hungry.
Mr. A - You're preggers!!

Mrs. O - I feel sick.
Mr. A - YOU'RE PREGGERS!!! My boys can swiiiiimmmmm!

Needless to say, we were really disappointed to see that cycle come to an end.  At least I didn't have to hear the word "preggers" anymore, LOL.  Not sure where he got that.  Today is a new day and we are doing what we can to get to be parents one day (and having some fun while doing it).  Were you a one shot wonder or did it take you some time before you saw two lines on the pregnancy test??
